A Novice, I began the process to sell the “family home” of fifty-five plus years.  Several “stagers” sauntered through the house pointing out what to get rid of and what should stay.  Several days later they emailed me a quote with little detail.  They were so impersonal I decided not to stage.  I found Yolanda Tillman, an interior decorator, who also stages houses.  She made an appointment like the others, but the similarities stopped there.  She sat down at my parent’s dining room table and presented a process we needed to follow.  We discussed my budget and she explained the pros and cons of staging a house for sale.  She also shared the statistics of the effects of staging. Then she went back and photographed the rooms. The next day Yolanda gave me a detailed list of suggestions with pictures and explanations.  Her list of staging included priorities room by room.  This was so different from my previous staging estimates.  It was not just another property.  She considered my budget, and values. Tiera Interiors LLC provided me with a professional contract that met my needs.  Once contracted, Ms. Tillman and her impressive staff went to work.  They were prompt and finished on time. When I shared pictures of the staged house with a friends’ familiar with the house, they said “Wow, which room is this?”  Tiera Interiors LLC transformed my childhood home! Three days after it hit the market, the purchaser submitted a contract based on viewing the staged house on the internet. Much to our surprise and thanks to Ms. Tillman and her staff, the house sold for 30,000 over the asking price.

I would like to thank Yolanda Tillman for coming out to give us an excellent presentation on staging our home. Yolanda had excellent suggestions on preparing our home before putting it on the market. Although we decided not to sell at this time, we would use her in the future and would not hesitate to recommend her to others for their staging needs.
